Position Overview:

Deputy is seeking a Manager, SMB Sales to lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives focused on acquiring new small and medium business clients through inside sales, technical demonstrations, and deal support. In this role, you will foster a high-performance culture with accountability. You will establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Account Executive team, continuously monitoring results and driving execution to meet and exceed sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Account Executives to achieve and surpass sales targets, generating new revenue for Deputy.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top-performing Account Executives.
  • Foster a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Coach and develop your team for success in their current roles while preparing them for future opportunities within Deputy.
  • Provide training and support to enhance understanding of the role, Deputy's offerings, and best practices for inside sales.
  • Guide your team in prioritizing new pipeline creation and optimizing existing pipeline efforts monthly.
  • Participate in sales calls, offering coaching and assistance in deal closures as needed.
  • Conduct regular reviews of calls and presentations.
  • Engage in pipeline and deal reviews with representatives, assisting them in winning deals through online presentations and negotiations.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to ensure lead quality and effective follow-up.
  • Deliver detailed analysis and reporting on team performance, providing accurate forecasts based on individual achievements and historical data.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to boost efficiency and productivity.
  • Occasionally oversee the sales team to ensure seamless operations during leadership absences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years in quota-carrying software sales, preferably within a SaaS context.
  • 3+ years of management experience in a sales setting.
  • Experience in a self-prospecting sales environment or prior SDR leadership.
  • Proven track record in hiring, developing, and promoting inside sales representatives.
  • Demonstrated success in selling through product demonstrations and social selling.
  • Experience with sales methodologies.
  • Consistent achievement of 100%+ of sales quotas as an individual contributor.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated resilience and determination in driving sales growth and overcoming challenges in a competitive SaaS landscape.
