Posts are available from September 2024 for an initial period of 6 months in general paediatrics. This role is suitable for applicants at ST1/2 LST ideally with some experience in paediatrics. It is ideally suited to candidates wishing to work in a large teaching hospital which provides many specialist services and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

Rotas would vary depending on specialty but all operate a fully compliant shift system including twilight and nights. Paediatric posts will deliver clinical care to paediatric patients on wards, liaising with colleagues in other specialties and hospitals, attending acutely sick patients and admitting and discharging patients and requesting investigations. Trainees are allocated to attend 2 full days of clinics every 14 weeks. As the holder of this role you will be expected to assist on wards and in clinics as well as providing on-call cover.

This role is suitable for applicants at ST1 / 2. It is ideally suited to candidates wishing to work in a large teaching hospital which provides many specialist services and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in paediatrics, paediatric specialties or neonatology

The post holders will support the teams (detailed below) in delivering quality healthcare to the population of Leeds for secondary services and Yorkshire & the Humber for some specialised

MEDICAL STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT

There are over 115 consultants in Leeds Childrens Hospital. Leeds Childrens Hospital is based within a large Teaching Hospital catering for a population of over 1 million people and up to 3 million people in the wider region. We deliver care for, and training in, a wide range of paediatric specialties, including tertiary neonatology, paediatric intensive care, congenital cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurology, haematology & oncology, endocrinology, diabetes, rheumatology, respiratory and cystic fibrosis, nephrology, gastroenterology, hepatology , general surgery and urology and general paediatrics.

There are over 100 junior doctor posts supporting the many specialties delivered at Leeds Childrens Hospital.
