Main duties of the job

AtChapel Allerton we value our junior doctors. We are a friendly and flexibledepartment. We provide daily senior support on the ward, designated dailysenior medical support, and are flexible to doctors educational and leaverequirements.

Mostof the job will be spent looking after elective orthopaedic, dermatology andrheumatology patients on the wards, regarding their medical and post-op care.We can also arrange time assisting in theatre and to attend, supernumerary, inout-patients if desired. There will be regular on the ward teaching for thepost holder. There is a 1 in 13 out- of-hours rota covering the Chapel Allertonhospital site on evening and weekends.On call cover will also include dermatology, rheumatology and complexneuro-rehab cover.

Thespecialties at Chapel Allerton Hospital are elective Orthopaedic Surgery,Rheumatology, Neuro-Rehabilitation and Dermatology. The post is not formallyrecognised for surgical training.

Candidatesmust be ALS trained, fully registered with the GMC and have completedfoundation training or equivalent. Theywill be required to complete e-meds training.

Minimum of 1-year experience of Orthopaedic Surgery at ST3+ level (or equivalent). Able to resuscitate patient. To complete ward rounds.
