NHS Highland Cancer Services in conjunction with Raigmore Advanced Nurse Practitioner Service are seeking to recruit 2 ANPs to work within a new acute oncology and haematology service.

Acute Oncology is by necessity, a multi-professional service that requires seamless working across organisational boundaries and clinical disciplines. It is an exciting and evolving speciality that brings together disciplines from oncology, malignant haematology, emergency care, acute medicine and palliative care to provide a cohesive patient service for patients presenting with oncological emergencies. These will be challenging, interesting, unpredictable and rewarding roles.

Each post holder will hold a specified portfolio which will be negotiated and agreed on appointment. Non-clinical time will be job planned to support the achievement of the key performance indicators linked to the following portfolios.

Education portfolio:

This will include the delivery of an ongoing programme of education & training to support both generalist and specialist staff to improve care delivery to acutely unwell cancer patients and standards of care across NHSH.

Leadership Portfolio:

This will include the development of the acute oncology/ haematology services across Highland in conjunction with Cancer Nurse Consultant. Supporting the development of clinical pathways, protocols and guidelines.

Both post holders will undertake audit, research and quality improvement projects.

If you are an enthusiastic ANP or Cancer Nurse with extensive experience and clinical expertise, we would love to hear from you. It is envisaged successful candidates will require additional learning and development, therefore a willingness to undertake further academic study at master's level is a necessity.

Successful applicants will be managed by the ANP Leads and supported by Cancer Nurse Consultant and an ANP Practice Development Nurse. You will be provided with an individualised supportive personal development plan to meet your educational and learning needs for the competencies required for this role.

You must have completed an NHS Highland approved advanced clinical assessment and history taking module at degree level and also be registered with the NMC as a non-medical prescriber (V300).

Full or part time hours are available on a permanent basis, post holders will be available to work Monday to Friday between of hours of 0800- 1800.
