Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Breast Cancer Oncology Service for an individual striving to gain more experience as a Specialist Support Nurse.

You will provide expert care, advice and support to patients with confirmed breast cancer and their carers/family under the guidance of three experienced Oncology cancer nurse specialists. You will act as a key worker and liaise with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible specialist care for their patients.

Due to the nature of the role, to encourage all women of all cultures and religions in our community to access breast screening, applicants must be female. This is deemed to be an occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraph 1 and the Employment Statutory Code of Practice Chapter 13 paragraphs

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care.

Responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes.

Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff
