Position Overview

We are looking for a committed and skilled Nurse Specialist to enhance our Neuro-Oncology Service at Cambridge University Hospitals. In this role, you will provide extensive care to patients, exercising a significant level of independence within a specialized neuro-oncology framework.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Expertise: Deliver expert clinical guidance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal standards of care.
  • Leadership and Strategy: Engage in strategic leadership to foster a supportive environment for both staff and patients.
  • Education and Development: Facilitate training and educational opportunities for colleagues and students, promoting a culture of ongoing professional growth.
  • Research and Innovation: Participate in research initiatives aimed at advancing the field of neuro-oncology.

Main Duties:

The successful candidate will operate as an independent Nurse Specialist, providing a comprehensive service to patients within the neuro-oncology sector. The role encompasses the following key functions:

  1. Expert Clinical Practice

  3. Systematic Learning and Improvement
  4. Research and Development

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering expert clinical advice to patients and healthcare teams.
  • Conducting educational sessions for staff and students.
  • Ensuring high standards of clinical practice are maintained.
  • Engaging in research relevant to neuro-oncology.

This position will play a vital role in providing leadership and clinical expertise within the neuro-oncology service, contributing to key clinical initiatives, supporting staff, and participating in audits and research aligned with service objectives.
