Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Breast Cancer Oncology Service for a dedicated individual seeking to enhance their expertise as a Specialist Support Nurse.

Your role will involve delivering specialized care, guidance, and support to patients diagnosed with breast cancer, along with their families and caregivers, under the mentorship of three seasoned Oncology nurse specialists. You will serve as a primary contact and collaborate with various healthcare professionals to ensure optimal specialized care for your patients.

As this position is focused on encouraging women from diverse backgrounds to engage in breast screening, it is essential that applicants are female. This requirement aligns with the occupational criteria set forth in the Equality Act 2010.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be accountable for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, developing, and executing specialized nursing care plans.
  • Providing expert advice and support to patients and collaborating with other healthcare staff.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered nurse.
  • Relevant surgical experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification.
  • Post-registration qualification in specialty or willingness to pursue one.
