Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of urological and breast cancers, sharing with colleagues the responsibility for day-to-day management of the clinical service. They will participate in complex radiotherapy planning and treatment techniques, including prostate seed brachytherapy, and deliver systemic therapy.

They will also be responsible for recruitment to and active participation in clinical trials, taking an active role in the design of original clinical trials and studies. Additionally, they will supervise undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff, and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, ward rounds, and on-call commitments.

As part of our commitment to supporting the medical workforce, all newly appointed Consultants attend our five-day Consultant Development programme within a year of joining the Trust. Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work, and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

Working for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
