We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the position of Neonatal Practice Development Facilitator within our Sunrise Neonatal Unit.

The post is permanent and is offered at full time in the first instance, but applications for flexible working and job shares would be welcomed.

Main duties of the job

The overall job purpose of this post is to develop evidence based clinical practice and promote patient safety through staff training, coaching, supervision, and mentoring. This role has 1-day per week dedicated to supporting the multi-professional training in Maternity & Neonatal services. The 1-day per week undertaking this aspect of the role will be professionally managed by the Maternity Lead for education.

The post holder will work strategically and operationally to promote the teaching, training, and ongoing development of Neonatal Nursing team ensuring patient safety, evidence based practice, staff experience and service user experience, is an active ongoing process within the Neonatal Service.

The post holder will work in partnership with Neonatal Matron, Ward Managers, & Practice Development Nurse to create a robust staff development, recruitment, and retention strategy.

oExperience and knowledge of neonatal practice acquired through experience post-neonatal training. oSignificant experience in all aspects of Neonatal Care at a Band 6 level. oSound knowledge of current neonatal nursing issues, with an understanding of the relevance and local impact of issues and policy from the wider arena of the nursing profession and the NHS. oIn depth understanding of Safeguarding issues. oKnowledge of issues surrounding bereavement care including support of staff. oEvidence of professional development and relevant further study. oExperience of staff recruitment

Education and qualifications
