A bit about the role

Aberdeen Priority Families Service started in January 2017 and is a partnership between Action for Children, Aberdeen City Council, and Aberdeen Foyer. The service aims to improve the outcomes for families who have multiple and complex needs. Families are referred to the service due to issues relating to antisocial or offending behaviour, child or adult welfare concerns and or financial difficulties. We are now looking for an administrator to join our team on a part-time basis.

You will be the first point of contact for children, young people, families, and professionals who contact the service, so will need to be approachable, compassionate, and empathetic whether communicating over the phone, by email or in person.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to provide timely, efficient, and effective administrative support across our service.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Providing a range of administrative services utilising organisational policies, procedures and digital systems
  • HR Duties, such as: keeping staff records up to date, from contractual changes, payroll to training records.
  • Producing, written and financial reports for management, including formatting of information and data, which is consistent with organisational and regulatory standards, and producing statistical data.
  • Assisting with management of project budgets, work request orders, stationary orders, petty cash handling and reconciliation, and the completion of monitoring an evaluation forms.

Whilst it would be great if you have a Business Administration S/NVQ, we're open to experience rather than qualifications.

  • Experience of using PC's on a business network running MS Windows and Office, along with Email and Internet and specific business applications.
  • The ability to work within a team environment, demonstrating tact and diplomacy with other members of staff and where necessary to direct and guide.
  • Effective communication written and oral to a range of different personnel.
  • To take responsibility for a project or task and deliver within agreed timescales.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn new processes and demonstrate good practice to others.
  • Experience of providing a confidential, professional service and to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role.
