Position: Teaching Assistant (Level 2)

Location: Accrington, Lancashire

Start date: Monday 2nd September 2024

Contract: Full-time, initially until February 2025

School: Mainstream Secondary provision

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support individuals and groups of students to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment. Working with students of various ages (11-16) across a number of subjects, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a school environment, supporting and making a difference to young people’s lives.

The successful candidate will possess good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement with enthusiasm and adaptability. Your positive outlook and a willingness to be fully involved in school life will ensure you thrive in this role.

We are willing and able to be flexible around part-time/full-time working and could offer the role on a basis to suit the right candidate.

Key Accountabilities:

-          Establish a rapport and respectful, trusting relationships, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.

-          Promote inclusion and acceptance of all.

-          Promote self-esteem and independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievements of self-reliance.

-          Support academic progress.

-          Provide specific feedback in discussion with students on their progress and achievement, in line with school policy.

-          Provide extra support/additional resources for students where appropriate, removing any barriers to learning.

-          Ensure that students can access learning across the curriculum and that work is differentiated where required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
