Key Stage 1 Support Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated support assistant with experience in implementing various educational interventions. Our educational institutions embrace an inclusive philosophy, and we seek an individual who can collaborate effectively with the Class Teacher to identify learning gaps and develop appropriate interventions.

Location: Hyndburn, Lancashire.

Pay: £15

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with students to foster engagement with the curriculum and enhance their learning experience.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive demeanor to ensure a positive educational environment for all children.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver stimulating lessons in partnership with the Class Teacher and other educational professionals, enabling students to reach their full potential.
  • Familiarize yourself with the KS1 Curriculum to understand age-related expectations.
  • Adapt learning activities to cater to the diverse needs of students, including those with additional requirements.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Uphold the safeguarding of all students by adhering to school policies and participating in regular safeguarding training.
  • · Document student progress to provide constructive feedback to children, parents, and the Class Teacher.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective strategies for managing student behavior.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Experience in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

All quoted pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role in the future.
