Individual Support Assistant for Special Educational Needs

Are you a committed educational professional eager to provide personalized assistance to a student with unique requirements?

We are currently in search of a dedicated Individual Support Assistant to join our team.

Location: Hyndburn, Lancashire.

Compensation: £15 per hour.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Foster strong connections with students and their families through a compassionate approach.
  • · Maintain open communication with the student's family to ensure a supportive environment.
  • · Create a safe and inclusive atmosphere that enables the student to reach their full potential.
  • · Collaborate effectively with the classroom teacher and other specialists, such as SENCOs and therapists, to implement recommended strategies.
  • · Identify and address learning gaps, communicating these with the teacher for effective intervention planning.
  • · Exhibit a calm and consistent demeanor to help establish a clear routine for the student.
  • · Demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive mindset, and a genuine passion for education.
  • · Promote an inclusive educational ethos on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

  • · Prior experience working with children with additional needs.
  • · Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • · Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
  • · A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • · A strong commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the well-being of students.
  • · Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • · Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
