Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to join our team as a Primary Education Support Assistant. This role involves working one-to-one with a pre-verbal pupil in a Reception class, providing support to enhance their knowledge and understanding of functional speech.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand alternative approaches to communication and adapt their approach to support learning. They will also be able to work collaboratively with the teaching staff to develop and implement effective strategies to support the pupil's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a pre-verbal pupil in a Reception class
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the pupil's knowledge and understanding of functional speech
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement effective support plans
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure consistency and continuity of support

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a similar role
  • Ability to understand alternative approaches to communication
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
