Vision for Education - Preston is seeking an Advanced Teaching Support Specialist for a specialist educational environment.

This full-time position operates from Monday to Friday, with remuneration starting at £450 per week, contingent on experience.

Role Overview
Our client is in search of a committed and passionate Advanced Teaching Support Specialist (ATSS) to enhance their educational team. In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting with the English curriculum throughout the institution.

Key Responsibilities
As an ATSS, your responsibilities will include:

  • Adapting instructional techniques and materials to meet diverse learning preferences and capabilities.
  • Creating a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere that promotes academic achievement, emotional health, and positive behavior.
  • Collaborating with fellow educators, teaching assistants, and support personnel to formulate individualized Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and execute strategies for student advancement.
  • Establishing effective communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the education and care of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Staying informed about the latest educational methodologies, policies, and advancements in the realm of special educational needs, and integrating these into your teaching practices.

About the Educational Institution
The institution caters to secondary education for students aged 11-16, focusing on those who are disengaged from traditional educational pathways in an alternative provision setting.

Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for the position of Advanced Teaching Support Specialist, candidates should possess:

  • A Level 4 HLTA qualification and relevant experience in an educational or similar environment.
  • Specialization or experience in working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of diverse teaching strategies, interventions, and resources tailored for SEND students.
