Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Relationships: Establish strong relationships with children to ensure they engage with the curriculum and their learning.
  • Positive Learning Environment: Maintain a calm and nurturing approach to create a positive learning environment for children.
  • Lesson Planning: Collaborate with the Class Teacher and other professionals to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Work alongside the KS1 Curriculum to ensure a deep understanding of age expectations.
  • Differentiated Learning: Adapt learning to meet the needs of children with additional needs and diverse learners.
  • Professional Development: Commit to continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safeguarding of all pupils, adhering to school policies and participating in regular safeguarding training.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record children's progress to provide feedback to children, parents, and the Class Teacher.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Effective behaviour management strategies.
  • DBS Certificate: Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Experience: Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
