We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Intervention Support Specialist to join our SEMH provision in Accrington. This is a full-time, long-term position working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted intervention support to students with SEMH needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal development goals.
- Cover classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment.
- Manage behavior effectively, using de-escalation techniques and fostering a nurturing atmosphere.
- Work closely with the teaching team and other professionals to support the emotional well-being of students.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, particularly within SEMH settings, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and behavior management skills.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and work collaboratively with staff.
