About the the Role

As a Cluster Sales manager you are responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, fam trips, local and international sales trips, appointment calls and to conduct hotel show arounds. Also develops strategic action plans for hotels to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue.

To achieve the hotels operating goals by maximising revenues opportunities through proactive Sales and Marketing activities.

Directs and implements strategies to source new business and retain existing clients relevant to all revenue streams of the hotels.

Main duties:

    • To submit detailed reports on sales activity, contacts, results when required
    • Assist the Director of Sales in the development of the annual Commercial Plan including the market segmentation breakdown and revenue forecast
    • To carry out activities as agreed and detailed in the Commercial Plan
    • To pro-actively source and report competitor and hotel industry information that will assist in long and short term planning
    • To keep aware, through networking with competitor hotels sales departments, on the trends, threats, opportunities etc. and react accordingly
    • To actively promote the companys other hotels and pass on leads and information to the sales personnel
    • Achieves budgeted goals by executing sales activities across all market segments
    • Prepares proposals that are geared to maximise profit while satisfying guest needs
    • Increases sales volume and profitability developing and executing projects for assigned market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan
    • Develops plans, special sales activities and promotions with your client base
    • Applies proactive sales initiatives to gain new business opportunities through various sources of research
    • Attend Sales events as required
    • To constantly monitor the performance of the hotel and to develop strategies to rectify any negative deviation to budget
    • Targeting key accounts potential for the company.
    • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
    • Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
    • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Acquiring and developing new business accounts and preparing sales proposals for clients.
    • Closely following up on all business leads within a 24 hour response time line to clients
    • Proactively account manage a nominated portfolio of accounts, across segment with a view to developing these accounts and driving revenue across the Crimson network.

The Candidate

As well as having experience in a similar role within the hotel industry, the ideal candidate will be a strong and charismatic communicator, deliver exceptional service to clients, be highly organised and be able to prioritise their workload. Previous experience with systems such as Delphi FDC or similar would be highly advantageous as well as a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
