MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a Leading Gifting business, on the search for National Account Manager. This is a permanent role based in Leeds.


As the National Account Manager, play a pivotal role in fostering and expanding our business relationships within the grocery retail sector. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets, establish brand visibility, and promote our products on a national scale. Your ability to effectively manage key accounts, collaborate cross-functionally, and stay attuned to market trends will be critical to your success in this role.


Key Responsibilities


  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing grocery/independent retail accounts, acting as the primary point of contact. Understand their unique needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions that drive mutual growth. An understanding of planogramming, merchandising and category managing is critical.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the grocery retail sector. Prospect and onboard new accounts by presenting our product portfolio, value propositions, and differentiation in the market.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with overall company objectives. Define sales targets, promotional strategies, and collaborative initiatives to enhance market presence and revenue. Reporting constant updates to senior management.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and promotional programs to ensure profitable and sustainable partnerships. Manage contract agreements and terms with a keen eye on compliance and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align on product launches, marketing campaigns, and inventory management. Provide insights from the market to influence product roadmap decisions.
  • Monitor sales performance, track progress against targets, and generate regular reports for internal stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement. Reporting constant updates to senior management.


What are we looking for?


  • Strong Account management experience.
  • 5+ years gifting experience.
  • Experience within licensing and working within grocers.
  • Strong Strategic mindset.
  • Experience of developing accounts and winning new business.
  • Ability to manage a multitude of different priorities (internal & external and work to timescales, manage projects and lead people)
