Business Engagement Executive – Job Summary

Lakes College, a technical vocational Further Education College in West Cumbria, is seeking a Business Engagement Executive to help strengthen relationships with local employers and contribute to the growth of the college. The college focuses on providing high-quality vocational education and training, including apprenticeships and degree-level courses. Role Overview: The Business Engagement Executive will primarily be responsible for managing employer relationships, identifying training needs, and ensuring that the college’s offerings meet the demands of local businesses. The role involves engaging with employers to develop new business opportunities, ensuring that training programmes address skills shortages, and working toward key sales and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Employer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to develop new areas of growth and support key college targets.

* Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for employers, providing regular updates, addressing funding queries, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the partnership.

* Business Development: Work closely with employers and internal teams to secure leads for new apprenticeships and commercial training programmes. The goal is to convert these leads into long-term business opportunities.

* Target Achievement: Meet and exceed agreed sales targets and performance indicators by developing new business, ensuring all necessary documents are accurately maintained, and reporting performance data as required.

* Marketing and Promotion: Raise the college’s profile by attending employer-focused events and actively participating in promotional activities. This helps enhance the college’s reputation and expand its network of potential clients.

* Collaboration: Work closely with both employers and internal teams to align the college’s training provision with employer needs, ensuring high-quality services are delivered.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Safeguarding: Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies, promoting the welfare of learners under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults.

* Teamwork: Work collaboratively within the team, contributing to team development and supporting colleagues during peak periods.

* Quality Assurance: Participate in the college’s quality system to ensure the delivery of high standards of service.

* Health and Safety: Support the college’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring a safe learning and working environment.

* Sustainability & Equality: Promote the college’s sustainability strategy and support the Equal Opportunities Policy to ensure compliance across the college.

* Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative duties as needed and contribute to the smooth running of the college.

Qualifications and Skills: This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple accounts, and a strong understanding of business development and training needs. A focus on performance and meeting targets is essential.
