About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Sales Director to lead our MICE sales team at Apex Hotels. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Building: Strengthen relationships with key MICE customers and identify opportunities to increase penetration and maximize profit.
  • Market Analysis: Understand the competitive MICE landscape and Apex's position within it, and develop tactics to shift share.
  • Revenue Growth: Generate MICE revenue growth through consultative selling and relationship-building.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of regional MICE sales managers and executives to achieve individual and departmental goals.
  • Preferred Partnerships: Direct the strategic relationship of the group's MICE preferred partners to maximize market share and ancillary revenues.
  • New Business Development: Research, identify, and establish new business sales contacts, develop relationships, and distribution opportunities.
  • Account Management: Maintain in-depth knowledge of MICE accounts and work with operational teams to personalize interactions.
  • Presentations and Reporting: Create and deliver strong presentations to demonstrate the Apex value proposition and benefits, and maintain accurate records and reports.
About You

We are looking for a natural communicator with a passion for customer service and satisfaction, who is proactive, shows initiative, and has a proven track record in motivating and developing sales and events teams. You will be friendly and approachable, with a strong ability to lead by example and deliver a 'warmer welcome' to our guests.

You will have:

  • Validated multi-property experience in the specific MICE sales area.
  • Highly experienced in all administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Proactive at meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to manage all resources within budgeted guidelines.
  • Highly numerate and able to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting processes.
  • Motivational team manager who can communicate well at all levels.
  • Flexibility to facilitate the entertainment of MICE agents and clients.
