Job Description

Job Title: Administration Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administration Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate entry and updating of patient details and patient hospital episodes onto the Electronic Patient Record system (EPR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate use of the EPR system to register patients new to the Trust.
  • Make new appointments, ensuring that the Outpatient Government targets are upheld.
  • Maintain confidentiality and be aware of data protection when using all hospital systems, and also when dealing directly with patients and their families.
  • Respond to patient record requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring confidentiality and security is adhered to at all times in line with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1999.
  • Ensure all medical notes are pulled, as required and stored correctly and neatly.
  • Communicate politely and efficiently with patients, relatives, and other Trust staff via the telephone or face-to-face.
  • Organize patient tests and x-rays/scans as required.
  • Work as part of the team, or on own initiative, in a very busy office environment.

  • Confidence in using electronic patient record systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
