The Role

This role requires a proactive and organized individual to provide full administrative support to the Partners and Legal Advisors within the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for scanning correspondence and documents, typing correspondence and formatting documents, and managing files. They will also be required to perform conflict checks, open new clients and matters, and create letters of engagement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Scanning and organizing correspondence and documents
  • Typing and formatting correspondence and documents
  • Managing files, including e-filing and hard copy filing
  • Performing conflict checks
  • Opening new clients and matters, and creating letters of engagement
  • Supporting with events, including managing room bookings and catering requests
  • Diary management
  • Answering the telephone
  • Audio typing (not essential)
  • Financial hygiene, including raising invoices and writing off and/or transferring time
  • Closing files
  • Assisting with various other tasks, as required

Requirements

  • At least 12 months' experience in a legal administrative or secretarial role, ideally within a national law firm or a large corporate organization
  • Ability to maintain high standards while carrying out day-to-day tasks
  • Great organizational skills
  • Good attention to detail and comfortable with numbers
  • Good keyboard skills and knowledge of various applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Active listener and effective communicator
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders
  • Friendly, positive, enthusiastic, and 'can-do' attitude
