Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Strategic People Director to lead our HR team and drive performance within the organisation. As Head of People, you will shape the future of our workforce and collaborate with senior stakeholders to cultivate a high-performing team.

  • Visionary Leader: Experienced in shaping strategies and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Trusted Advisor: Expertise in employment law, employee relations, and talent management.

  • Coach and Mentor: Proven success in managing and developing HR teams.
  • Relationship Builder: Confident and assertive, building trust and inspiring collaboration among teams.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
  • Partner with leaders to embed a performance-driven culture across the organisation.
  • Influence strategies on employee engagement, recruitment, learning, and compliance to ensure seamless operations.
  • Build trust and guide leaders through complex people challenges.
Operational Excellence
  • Enhance HR systems and processes for maximum efficiency, driving productivity and reducing costs.
  • Deliver key people metrics and reports to inform leadership decisions, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee recruitment strategies up to Director level, ensuring exceptional hires that meet the organisation's needs.
Team Development
  • Manage and mentor a People team of three direct reports plus an overall team of five.
  • Drive initiatives like engagement surveys, learning programs, and leadership development to enhance team capabilities.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes and align policies with best practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Handle high-risk employee relations issues with expertise and care, protecting the organisation's interests.
Financial Acumen
  • Manage learning, development, and recruitment budgets to ensure financial efficiency in all people-related initiatives.
  • Ensure financial efficiency in all people-related initiatives, driving cost savings and organisational growth.
Communication
  • Lead internal communications that resonate and inspire teams, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Build bridges across teams to ensure the People strategy thrives and benefits the organisation as a whole.
Requirements
  • CIPD Qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficient in job evaluation systems
  • Analytical mindset with IT and numerical prowess
