Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and organized Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at Hartlepool and Stockton Health GP Federation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to our GP practice, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and delivering a high-quality patient experience.
Main Duties
- Operate the computerized appointment system, ensuring efficient scheduling and timely communication with patients.
- Receive patients, make appointments, and handle telephone inquiries with a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
- Process prescriptions, register patients for online services, and manage patient data with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as opening and sorting mail, managing files, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth referrals, pathology testing, and other clinical procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient queries and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.

Person Specification
Essential
- Ability to use information and communications technology safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to patients and colleagues in a professional manner.
Desirable
- Training in receptionist/administrative duties and medical/clinical IT systems.
- Previous experience in a receptionist role in a primary care setting, preferably within the last 12 months.

- AMSPAR Medical Receptionist Certificate or equivalent.
