Housing Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Housing Support Specialist to join our team at Brook Street Social Care NMR. As a Housing Support Specialist, you will work with vulnerable adults, providing emotional support, assistance with housing benefits, and helping them navigate their mental health and substance misuse challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of both the individuals and staff members. This is a temporary role, and you will be expected to hit the ground running, with previous experience working with vulnerable people in a similar setting being essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide emotional support and guidance to vulnerable adults
• Assist with housing benefits and other administrative tasks
• Help individuals navigate their mental health and substance misuse challenges
• Ensure the safety of both individuals and staff members
• Work in a hostel setting and out in the community, supporting those at risk of homelessness, struggling with mental health, substance misuse, or ex-offenders
Requirements
• Previous experience working with vulnerable people in a similar setting
• Ability to work in a hostel setting and out in the community
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to providing high-quality support to vulnerable adults
