Derbyshire WISH provides refuge and community-based support to adults and children experiencing domestic abuse. We are part of the Nottingham Community Housing Association family, offering services to women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse.

Job Description
  • We are seeking a Vulnerable Support Specialist to provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing or having experienced domestic abuse.
  • You will work with clients to assess needs and risks, plan a package of support and risk management individual to them.
  • Your duties may involve assessing referrals for both community and refuge-based services, supporting group work delivery, and attending multi-agency meetings to advocate for our clients.
Requirements
  • You will have experience of working within a support role supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferable skills.
  • You will have excellent communication skills, a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of individuals and families, and flexibility to travel across Derbyshire.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £22,669 - £23,428 per annum. You will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with some evening and weekend work possible. A driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) are essential.

We are looking for someone who has the values, knowledge, and skills to support vulnerable individuals and families. You will be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy exercise prior to the interview and a work-related test after the interview.
