About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Site Engineer to join our team at Caval Limited on a freelance basis. As a key member of the management team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of a £30m new build hospital extension in South West London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and establish site reference points
  • Manage on-site operations, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure seamless project implementation
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of all site personnel
  • Conduct site surveys to establish reference points, lines, and levels for construction activities
  • Execute quality control protocols to ensure all tasks adhere to required standards and specifications
  • Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure they comply with design specifications and project plans
  • Implement and oversee compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards
  • Support the acquisition of materials and equipment, ensuring they meet project specifications and are delivered on schedule
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, updates, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders
Requirements
  • SMSTS and/or SSSTS qualifications
  • CSCS Card
  • Extensive background in the industry with at least 5 years of experience in a Site Engineer position or similar
  • Experience working on projects within the healthcare sector is advantageous
  • Strong IT skills, excellent attention to detail, effective time management, and competent surveying techniques
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, skillful in maintaining high quality standards, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in utilising construction management software, CAD tools, and other relevant technology
