About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Hard Facilities Management team in delivering exceptional services to our clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the progress of planned maintenance and remedial works, ensuring accurate costs and time management, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the EMCOR UK maintenance team through effective communication, training, and development.
  • Oversee the progress of planned maintenance and remedial works, ensuring accurate costs and time management.
  • Ensure all works are completed to the satisfaction of the customer and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor risk through appropriate risk management, including commercial, H&S, and operational risks.
  • Work with Area Managers, Supervisors, and Service Teams to monitor maintenance performance and ensure continuity and compliance across the Thames Water estate.
  • Identify and implement ways to improve services, maximize value, and minimize cost, risk, and downtime.
  • Provide end-to-end management of engineering processes, including service delivery improvement plans and innovation aligned to risk management deliverables.
  • Effectively use CAFM, EMMA, and AMT as per standard operating procedure.
  • Stay up-to-date with new innovations in the marketplace and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain sufficient quality standards and ensure contracted services are delivered to agreed specifications and standards.
  • Respond timely to all requests, fully satisfying customer requirements.
  • Implement and comply with EMCOR and Thames Water Safe Systems of Work and document control.
  • Ensure all PPM, reactive, and extra works are completed in line with contract SLAs, KPIs, and Thames Water requirements.
  • Oversee the management of logbooks, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Lead the Account Behavioral Safety culture and drive a culture of interaction before prevention.
  • Drive a culture of engineering efficiency with reduced travel time and increased daily tool time.
  • Engage and support key EMCOR stakeholders to support service delivery to Thames Water clients.
Management
  • Behave consistently in line with EMCOR UK's values.
  • Be organized and proactive, prioritizing workload and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Participate in the management escalation call-out rota.
  • Ensure the team has the relevant skills and competencies to complete their job effectively.
  • Maintain HFM training compliance across the account.
  • Develop succession plans for every member of staff.
  • Establish a sufficient AP and CP structure.
  • Deputize for the Head of Operations as required.
  • Complete any other reasonable request instructed by management.
Client Management
  • Establish a consistently positive working relationship with the client and end-users.
  • Ensure all applicable processes are designed and approved for operational excellence.
Commercial and Finance
  • Support the Managed Fund and Quoted Work processes.
  • Satisfy all contract deliverables.
  • Design and implement cost optimization initiatives.
  • Capture and communicate potential commercial changes and/or gaps to the Head of Operations.
HR
  • Ensure team performance is consistent and satisfactory.
  • Complete any required training.
  • Complete the appraisal process in line with EMCOR UK procedure for all direct reports.
