Job Overview

To ensure the successful delivery of Engineering Services Maintenance and Facilities Services at EMCOR UK's client site, we are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective operational management strategies to ensure compliance with client agreements.
  • Lead the operational management and development of all scoped works and tasks, utilizing resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Record and communicate performance, initiatives, and achievements to EMCOR UK and the client's management.
  • Encourage a culture of team working, task ownership, and flexible working across the site.
  • Communicate operational management deliverables to supervisors, ensuring timely issue reporting and management.
  • Evaluate data and operational performance statistics monthly, implementing documented action plans for out-of-line situations.
  • Maintain close liaison with the client regarding maintenance operations status.
  • Conduct daily meetings with supervisors on operational updates.
  • Ensure commercial viability and growth of the contract.
  • Champion the IMS Quality System and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a program of initiatives and achievements on record.
  • Attend formal site meetings with the client.
  • Initiate standards and review forward planning of maintenance activities for adequate manpower loading and effective shutdown availability.
  • Ensure inventory management, including storage of critical spaces.
  • Ensure quality performance through auditing of EMCOR UK staff in workmanship, housekeeping, and customer satisfaction.
  • Operate emergency response procedures, including escalation requirements and liaison.
  • Develop a culture of safe working within the EMCOR UK team and sub-contractors.
  • Comply with all aspects of Site Safety & Quality.
  • Undertake sub-contractor visit controls and responsibilities in accordance with specific agreements, works, and frequencies.
  • Agree to undertake Authorized Person status and associated responsibilities.
  • Ensure technical staff induction and technical training, including delivery of H&S Tool Box Talks.
  • Conduct staff performance appraisal of direct reports and subsequent training and development requirements.
  • Accident investigation, reporting, and instigation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work, including Permit to Work systems and isolation procedures.
  • Develop and assist the client in critical plant replacements, emergency procedures planning, contingency planning, strategic review of maintenance techniques, and continuous review of sub-contracted works.

Person Specification

  • Proven track record of operations management in a hard services FM environment.
  • Technical background, ideally in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good interpersonal and customer relationships.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing a team.
  • Good command of the English language, both orally and verbally.
  • Smart, presentable appearance.
  • Personable and approachable.
  • Clean, full driving license.
  • BIFM is desirable.
