Senior Nuclear Safety Specialist

The UK nuclear industry's resurgence requires new developments, including advanced modular reactors, clean energy, nuclear medicine, new fuel types, and reprocessing processes, as well as existing site and process support, including decommissioning.
NNL seeks an experienced criticality specialist to support the delivery of Criticality Safety Assessments within NNL facilities, focus areas, and current/future customers.
We require a driven individual to develop skills to support NNL and its customers, with experience in criticality safety, safety cases, or related technical disciplines, delivering to required time, cost, quality, meeting customer expectations.
NNL supports flexible working, accommodating homeworking, and flexible location, although some travel will be necessary.
The location of this role is flexible and can be based at Sellafield, Workington, or Preston.
Main Responsibilities:- Technical delivery of projects in criticality area to time, cost, quality, value, and service requirements (working under direct supervision).
- Develop customer and stakeholder network within own project areas.
- Contribute to IR&D projects.
- Basic level of knowledge in criticality safety assessment.
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
- Ability to develop good networking skills.
- Relevant experience in criticality safety, safety cases, or related technical disciplines.
- Delivering to required time, cost, and quality meeting customer expectations.
- Flexible working, including homeworking.
- Flexible location, with options for Sellafield, Workington, or Preston.
