London, Greater London, United Kingdom Royal Academy Of Dance Full time

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Barbican is an internationally renowned arts, conference, and education centre situated in the heart of London's financial district. As a hub for creativity and innovation, it fosters artistic expression, sparks imagination, and inspires transformation across various disciplines.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our Communications team as a Public Relations Coordinator for Arts and Culture. Reporting directly to the Communications Manager (Theatre & Dance and Creative Collaboration), you will play a pivotal role in promoting our Arts and Participation programme through strategic press campaigns.

In this dynamic position, you will be part of a small yet agile team within the Communications department. Key responsibilities include responding to general press inquiries, handling requests for press images, and coordinating correspondence regarding press tickets. You will also assist with welcoming media personnel attending press nights, facilitating filming and photography operations, and maintaining office systems and documentation.

As a key stakeholder, you will develop relationships with esteemed artists, creatives, and external PR representatives relevant to your field. This administrative role demands excellent computer and database skills, strong copywriting abilities, and effective verbal communication skills. You must possess exceptional planning and organisational skills, with demonstrable experience meeting deadlines, managing time-sensitive tasks, and working under pressure.

The successful candidate will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including hybrid working arrangements, a competitive pension scheme, season ticket loans, cycle-to-work schemes, free museum and gallery access, and discounts on retail, healthcare, and on-site amenities. Additionally, you will be connected with trained Mental Health First Aiders and City of London and Barbican staff networks.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
