About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Children and Family Health Devon. As a key member of the Devon Youth Justice team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert assessment and evidence-based treatment for children and young people with complex mental health difficulties and their parents/carers.
  • Manage a defined caseload and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide integrated healthcare for children across Children and Family Health Devon.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, including complex multi-agency care plans.
  • Assess and manage multiple risks, including mental health presentations in the community.
  • Work flexibly across a range of clinical, community, and home-based settings to meet the needs of the child/young person.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of complex mental health presentations.
  • Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body, e.g. NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP.
  • Able to plan creatively to maximise the effectiveness of care plans.
  • An understanding of the Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
  • An understanding of child development.
