Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Exeter OPMH team. As a key member of our community mental health team, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment to clients over 65 with functional mental health and dementia presentations in their own homes and in residential settings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to address the complex mental health needs of clients.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of innovative care strategies and service improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and policy developments in mental health, applying this knowledge to inform your practice and contribute to the growth of the team.

Requirements:
  • Professional mental health qualification and registration (e.g., RMN, Social Work Degree, or equivalent).
  • Substantial experience in managing complex caseloads and providing clinical supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients, families, and healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of mental health legislation, policy, and best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a community setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
