The Graduate Project is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering young people in schools and communities. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Senior Youth Support Worker.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with local community groups, nonprofit organizations, and official bodies to enhance our youth support services.
  • Build Trusting Relationships: Foster strong, trusting relationships with young people and the local community, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
  • Improve Student Outcomes: Collaborate with educators and community leaders to improve student attendance, behavior, and academic success.
  • Program Development: Design and deliver programs that address the unique needs of young people, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Volunteer Management: Assist in the selection, training, and development of volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality support to young people.
  • Information and Guidance: Provide young people with accurate information, advice, and guidance to help them make informed decisions about their lives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and submit required evidence to management in a timely manner.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, overseeing their onboarding and delivering training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with young people, including mentoring, providing support, and facilitating educational programs.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in youth work or a related field is essential. A youth work degree or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Personal Qualities: A deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people and the ability to build and nurture relationships are essential for success in this role.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
