Job Overview

The Graduate Project is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Senior Youth Support Worker. This position is a critical component of our organization's mission to empower young people and support their academic and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, and local youth groups to promote collaborative efforts and resource sharing.
  • Foster a positive and trustworthy environment with the youth and local community, promoting a sense of belonging and support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement in education, resulting in enhanced attendance, positive behavior, and increased academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver programs that address the unique needs and challenges of young people.
  • Support the selection, training, and development of volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality support to our clients.
  • Provide young people with accurate information, guidance, and advice, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of program activities, outcomes, and evidence, submitting reports to management as required.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, overseeing their onboarding and delivering training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with young people, including mentoring, providing support, and facilitating educational programs.
  • A Level 3 qualification in youth work or a related field.
  • A degree in youth work or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Personal experience with the challenges faced by the young people we support.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with young people and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
