About the Role

As a Family Support Specialist at Northamptonshire Children's Trust, you will play a critical role in ensuring the wellbeing of children and families. Your primary responsibility will be to work directly with parents to contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment, formulation, and intervention planning.

This is a unique safeguarding role that involves working with various professionals and organisations, including the national network of FDACs. You will be part of a specialist team undertaking assessments and making recommendations for parents and children.

Your responsibilities include developing team policies, procedures, and practice, scheduling activities, promoting collaborative relationships with partner agencies, and overseeing feedback.

You will also have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative strategies to improve outcomes for children and families, as well as contribute to the development of the trust's overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and interventions for parents and children
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external partners
  • Identify and develop opportunities for innovation and improvement
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Experience in frontline social work, particularly in care proceedings, child protection, and child in need
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
