About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Lead Clinical Education Director for Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities in North London.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with the Postgraduate Dean to lead the delivery of various functions within their specialty, aligning with the NHS England mandate. This includes ensuring that national standards, as determined by the Royal College, and guidelines established within Psychiatry of Learning Disabilities are met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the Specialty's Regional Training Programme
  • Specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
  • Recruitment to training posts and programmes
  • Postgraduate programme management, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management careers support, less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfer, academic training, and other related work-streams
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of (specialty) training across the region and strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, which we estimate to be around £90,000 - £110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will have access to a range of benefits, including

  • A 40% average working time in-person commitment
  • Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band
  • NHS England holds a Sponsor Licence, allowing us to sponsor eligible candidates for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route
