Forensic Learning Disability Consultant Position in the North West

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in forensic learning disabilities to join our Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT). The SCFT provides preventative, reactive and evidence-based interventions through a combination of specialist risk assessments and management, face-to-face therapeutic interventions and support, as well as support, training and consultancy to other services to meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and or autism who have offended or are at risk of offending.
The psychiatry role includes Approved Clinician / Responsible Clinician provision where a person is subject to Conditional Discharge or a Community Treatment Order under the Mental Health Act or where there is an identified need. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care by providing a comprehensive psychiatric service to people with a Learning Disability and Forensic needs in Cheshire and Merseyside.
The post requires close working with Cheshire and Merseyside Learning Disability services and Mersey Care Forensic LD services. This is a part-time post with Total PAs: 6 [SPA: 1].
- This is the single medical role for the service.
Fulfilling the Community Responsible Clinician responsibility for patients accepted into the service will be a major component of this post.
The post holder will have a flexible job plan to provide outpatient or community clinics and home visits. They will participate in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, risk reviews and providing clinical leadership and Responsible Clinician role.
The role will include outpatient or community clinics, emergency home visits, liaising with forensic support services, attending professional meetings and any other activities involved in delivery of clinical care to the forensic learning disability and or autistic spectrum disorder patients.
The SCFT offers a full MDT component including highly skilled specialist nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Support Worker, Social Work and Psychologists. This role will be supported by a designated medical secretary.
Salary and BenefitsThe annual salary for this position is approximately £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, pro rata plus 10% R&R (non contractual).
