Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to work with our dedicated multidisciplinary team. As a Consultant in Psychiatry Learning Disabilities, you will provide psychiatric consultation, assessment, and treatment to patients in the Hillingdon LD team. You will also contribute clinical leadership in the development and management of the Learning Disability and neurodevelopmental disorder pathway within the Service Line.

You will be working closely with senior psychologists, behaviour analysts, educational teams, and child development/paediatric services to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Your contributions will help shape the direction of our service and ensure that we continue to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality psychiatric care to patients in the Hillingdon LD team
  • Provide clinical leadership in the development and management of the Learning Disability and neurodevelopmental disorder pathway
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive assessments and treatments
  • Liaise with paediatric colleagues to devise joint treatment plans for children with complex conditions
  • Participate in the development of new models of service to improve delivery and outcome
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
  • Complete Serious Untoward Incident Reports as required
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
  • On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychiatric care to patients with learning disabilities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
