About the Role:

The Executive Director, Parks and Visitor Services is a senior executive position responsible for leading the strategic directions of the parks management and visitor services functions within the Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction and management of the department as a member of its Corporate Executive.
  • Develop and implement departmental standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to parks management and visitor services functions, division management, and outcome delivery.
  • Provide policy and specialist advice to the Minister, Director General, Deputy Director General, Conservation and Parks Commission, and other relevant parties.
  • Create a strategic direction for the division, aligned with the department's strategic directions and values, and provide leadership, creativity, and initiative.
  • Ensure sound strategic, operational, and business planning and management for the division.
  • Lead change management initiatives relevant to the department and the division.
