Job Title: School Welfare Assistant

Job Type: Part-time (12:00 pm - 13:30 pm daily)

Location: Preston

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of School Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Monitor Students: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during lunch breaks.
  • Provide Support and Guidance: Assist students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Promote respectful behavior and resolve conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
  • Collaborate with School Staff: Work with teachers and other school staff to address any behavioral or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
  • Implement School Policies: Enforce school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Report Incidents: Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
  • Organize Activities: Assist in organizing and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in counseling, social work, or child development is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding of Child Behavior: Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
  • Ability to Enforce Rules: Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Certifications: First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.
