School Welfare Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of School Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Monitor Students: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during lunch breaks.
- Provide Support and Guidance: Assist students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
- Foster a Positive Environment: Promote respectful behavior and resolve conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
- Collaborate with School Staff: Work with teachers and other school staff to address any behavioral or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
- Implement School Policies: Enforce school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Report Incidents: Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
- Organize Activities: Assist in organizing and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or training in counseling, social work, or child development is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of Child Behavior: Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
- Ability to Enforce Rules: Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Certifications: First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.
