Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Preston. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with moderate to severe and multiple learning difficulties, including physical disabilities, sensory impairment, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in learning through fun and educational activities, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Manage daily schedules, ensuring students' needs are met, and activities are tailored to their abilities.
  • Implement safeguarding principles to ensure students' welfare and well-being.
  • Collaborate with key workers to discuss individual students' needs and develop focused learning opportunities.
  • Plan and deliver focused learning activities, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Support students' growth, self-esteem, and independence, fostering a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Ability to work with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
