Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Preston

Hours: Full-Time, 8:45am - 3:15pm

Pay Rate: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community. As a crucial member of our Key Stage 2 team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support and assistance to pupils with SEN, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are able to fully engage in classroom activities.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies designed by the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Assist with personal care and social development as required by individual pupil needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for pupils with SEN.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a primary school setting.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous.
