About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Oakfield House School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with autism and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering educational programs and activities to students with autism and complex needs.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources to meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide one-to-one support to students with autism and complex needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
- Support the emotional and physical needs of students, including feeding, toileting, and changing.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and grade C or above in English or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with autism and complex needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.
