Job Role

As a Technician at Howden, you'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing technical administration support to our broking staff. You'll work closely with colleagues to ensure that our responsibilities are completed in accordance with our Company/Group policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet agreed targets and contribute to the success of our Business Units
  • Handle assigned projects and provide management information to managers as required
  • Assist in the creation of client and broking documents, and process slips, quotes, indications, and endorsements
  • Perform technical duties, including data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory and legal changes that impact your job role
  • Maintain accurate records on our Company systems and respond to issues as they arise
  • Develop positive relationships with your Business Units and deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and third parties
  • Manage client renewals and mid-term adjustments, and respond to client queries
Requirements
  • Previous work in Insurance, ideally as a Technician, is essential
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation
  • Ability to work optimally within a team and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Prioritisation and interpersonal skills, with a self-motivated approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to study for examinations and develop your skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and confident communication
