Job Role

As a Technician at Howden, you will be assigned to an Operating Entity and responsible for providing technical administration support to broking staff within dedicated Business Units. You will work as part of a team of Technicians who provide specialist support organized around lines of insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet agreed targets and handle assigned projects
  • Provide management information to managers as required
  • Assist in the creation of client and broking documents
  • Process slips, quotes, indications, and endorsements
  • Perform technical duties, including data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities
  • Stay informed of regulatory and legal changes impacting the job role
  • Maintain up-to-date records on Company systems
  • Respond to issues as they arise and develop positive relationships with Business Units
  • Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers, and third parties
  • Handle client renewals and mid-term adjustments
Requirements
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths are essential
  • A-level Grade A-C (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Progression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired, but not crucial
