At Potter Johnson, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Housing Advocate to join our dynamic team. This challenging role requires an individual with experience in crisis intervention, advocacy, and service support.

About the Role

This position is based in Hammersmith, where you will work Monday to Friday, providing support to individuals in need of safe and appropriate accommodation. You will be working closely with key partners, including homelessness teams, local authorities, and housing associations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. As a Senior Housing Advocate, you will provide proactive support to engage victim/survivors of domestic abuse, aiming to reduce risk, improve wellbeing, and provide access to safe accommodation.

  2. You will work with a caseload of survivors, supporting the duty team on a rota basis, completing intake assessments, and providing crisis intervention support.

  3. Your experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse will be invaluable in implementing safety and support plans.

  4. You will have a good understanding of housing options available for women experiencing domestic abuse, including those who are homeless or in social housing or the private rented sector.

  5. Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs, is essential for this role.

Requirements
  1. We are looking for an individual with over 12 months' experience in a similar role, with expertise in domestic violence, criminal justice, law, social work, or another related area.

  2. A strong knowledge of Adult at Risk policies and procedures is crucial for this position.

  3. An enhanced adult DBS registration is also a requirement for this role.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
