Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our dynamic team as a Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist.
As a member of our CAMHS Emergency Care Service, you will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic assessments and interventions to young people under 18 presenting with mental health crises in acute hospitals across South West London.
With a strong focus on formulation and intervention, our team aims to provide high-quality care that is tailored to the unique needs of each young person and their family. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with young people who experience acute mental health problems and will be able to demonstrate expertise in risk assessment and management. Additionally, they will be expected to participate in regular clinical supervision, contribute to policy and procedure development, and lead multidisciplinary meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake psychosocial assessments of young people presenting to acute hospitals in mental health crisis
- Liaise and consult with CAMHS colleagues to provide further specialist assessment if necessary
- Offer follow-up appointments following initial assessment to review risk management plans and assess further support required
- Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options in consultation with teams across the Trust and wider agencies
- Provide advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals working in other agencies and contribute to multi-agency care planning
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and contribute to policy and procedure development
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience of working with young people who experience acute mental health problems
- Experience of risk assessment and management
- Post qualification and registration experience of working in child and adolescent services
Salary: £45,739 - £56,092 per annum (Band 7)
