At James Simpson, we are seeking an experienced API Sales Leader to drive our global API sales efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strong API-focused sales pipeline, building robust client relationships, and managing the sales process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy: Formulate and execute strategies to achieve global sales targets, drive API adoption across multiple markets, and stay ahead of market trends and competition.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and engage new clients through networking, digital outreach, and attending relevant industry events, leveraging modern channels and tools to meet growth objectives.
  • Sales Lifecycle: Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and needs assessment through to final contract negotiations and deal closures.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within target organizations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, technical, and product development, to ensure alignment throughout the sales journey.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular sales reports, insights into the sales pipeline, and updates on market conditions.

Requirements:

  • At least a decade of experience in business development, with 2–3 years specializing in API-focused sales within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in managing sales efforts across international markets.
  • Familiarity with the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Background in businesses where API offerings were central.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong understanding of modern API technologies, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, technology, or a related field; advanced degree advantageous.
